Homemade Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls

There is nothing more homely than freshly baked bread. The aroma straight from the oven is irresistible for these homemade whole wheat dinner rolls.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup wholewheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 oz yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in water and sugar. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Add the butter, salt and egg. Mix in the flour. Knead into a soft smooth ball. While you knead you may rub your hands with a little oil.
  • Rub a little oil or melted butter over the dough. Cover and allow to rise until double in size.
  • Punch down and shape into buns. Place in a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees F or until golden brown. Cool before serving.
