Southern Tea Cakes

Servings: 36 cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups self-rising flour

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, cream together shortening and sugar. Then beat in the eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Stir in flour and mix well. Drop tablespoonful of batter, 2½ inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350 degrees f for 15-20 minutes.
