I really love that crunch you get when you bite into a freshly fried wanton, dipped in soy sauce, ketchup or a homemade dip. But what I love even more is the versatility of the wanton. It’s a blank canvas, waiting for us to unleash our culinary creativity and turn it into something truly amazing. Take, for example, the shrimp wanton.
It’s a delicious classic that can be elevated in so many ways. Add some spice with a chili dipping sauce, or make it sweet and savory with a honey mustard dip. The possibilities are endless! But the beauty of the shrimp wanton isn’t just in its taste. It’s in the process of creating it. Folding the delicate wrapper around a succulent piece of shrimp takes patience and skill, but the end result is worth it.
