Cassava Bread

  • 6 cups cassava flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  1. Peel and grate the cassava.
  2. Place in a cloth and squeeze out the water.
  3. Rub between your hands to make fine crumbs.
  4. Place the cassava to dry in the hot sun for at least 3 hours.
  5. Add the salt and mix.
  6. Place the form on the tawa over a low fire.
  7. Note: I used a 9″ spring form pan with the bottom removed.
  8. Place 1 cup of the cassava flour in the form and spread thinly.
  9. Press using the back of a spoon.
  10. Cook for 5 min on both sides.
  11. Note: Remember the fire must be very low.
  12. When finished remove the crumbs from the tawa.
  13. Place in a bowl then place in the sun until dry and hard.
  14. Note: The cassava bread will get dry and hard like crackers.
