Most Delicious Potato Au Gratin

Potato au gratin, also known as potatoes gratiné or scalloped potatoes, is a classic comfort dish that has been enjoyed by many people for centuries. This dish is made by layering sliced potatoes with a creamy and cheesy sauce, and then baking it until it is golden brown and bubbly. It is a perfect side dish for a variety of meals and occasions, such as holidays, potlucks, or family dinners. To make potato au gratin, you will need some basic ingredients such as potatoes, cream, milk, cheese, butter, and flour.

First, slice the potatoes thinly and arrange them in a baking dish. Then, make the creamy sauce by melting butter in a saucepan, whisking in flour to make a roux, and gradually adding in the cream and milk. Once the sauce is smooth and thickened, stir in grated cheese and seasonings of your choice, such as garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce over the potatoes and bake in the oven until the top is crispy and the potatoes are tender. This dish is not only delicious but also versatile, as you can add your own twist by incorporating other ingredients such as bacon, onions, or herbs.
