Barbecue Sauce

At its core, barbecue sauce is a combination of sweet, sour, and savory ingredients that are typically cooked down and blended together to create a thick, flavorful sauce. While the exact recipe can vary by region, common ingredients include tomato paste, vinegar, sugar, spices, and sometimes even fruit or alcohol. Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cloves garlic finely grated
  • 1 tbsp finely grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp sugar brown
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp green seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt optional
  • 1 tsp pepper to taste
  • Dash black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a pot or sauce pan add the bay leaf and ketchup. Then add the grated ginger and garlic. Add the sugar, soy sauce and green seasoning. add the water, salt, pepper and a dash of black pepper.
  2. Over a medium flame bring to a boil while stirring. Set aside to cool. When cooled you can store it in the refrigerator.
